The Sumatran short-tailed python is a heavily built that grows up to five feet long. They get their name because their tail is extremely short in relation to its length. It almost looks as if their tail was tapered off, but this allows them to show of their beautiful width. They are know to be shy nocturnal creatures in the wild, but also in captivity.
